Job overview

Headteacher

Salary- Leadership L21-L27

Permanent, full-time

  • Do you have a strong vision and bold aspirations for pupils, particularly those classed as disadvantaged?
  • Are you skilled in removing barriers to achieve goals?
  • Can you identify and implement innovative and effective school improvement solutions?

If so, read on because we could be describing your next role. An exciting Headteacher vacancy has arisen at Churchfield Church School, which is part of the vibrant Bath & Wells Multi Academy Trust. The school has 412 pupils with a further 97 in the nursery. You will be the nominated person with overall responsibility for the setting. We are seeking to appoint an experienced and exceptional leader to push on from our foundations, help address the challenges our community faces, and ensure that our pupils continue to flourish.

We need a resilient, motivated leader, confident in their abilities who will be swift to action with communication a key strength. You will know how to engage, inspire, and nurture people. You will see the growth potential of the pupils, staff, school, and nursery.

Highbridge is within 20% of the most deprived areas in England. The school has a significantly higher than average percentage of pupils with special education needs and/or disabilities and a high proportion of pupils identified as disadvantaged and therefore eligible for pupil premium funding. It needs a leader who is passionate about championing the underserved.

This will be a senior role within our organisation, and the excellent remuneration package reflects this.

We can offer you:

  • A committed, dedicated, and supportive team of staff and governors
  • Caring, friendly and talented children
  • High quality, well-resourced premises with extensive grounds
  • An outstanding nursery providing an excellent start to the children’s education
  • A supportive, friendly, and collaborative group of local schools to work within

We warmly welcome potential applicants to visit the school. Please contact Michelle Woodland to arrange a visit via Michelle.Woodland@churchfield.bwmat.org
