The Exciting Role

A new and exciting opportunity has become available for a Foundations Lecturer

The successful candidate will be primarily based at Nelson & Colne College but may be required to travel across sites.

 

What You Will Be Doing: 

·        Teach & assess on a range of Entry & Level 1 programmes that include vocational studies pathways that prepare learners for both employment and further learning.

·        Develop high quality curriculum plans and resources that are responsive to the needs of the local and regional landscape.

·         Prepare learners for their own individual next steps by providing excellent pastoral support as a personal tutor for specified groups.

·        Complete reviews of learner progress towards achievement of individual learning goals. 


What We Are Looking For: 

·        Successful teaching experience of Level 1 and below.

·        Degree in a relevant subject area.

·        Someone who holds or is close to completing a recognised teaching qualification

·        Passionate, empathetic & enthusiastic individual who believes in the potential of all learners regardless of prior achievement.

About Nelson and Colne College

Nelson and Colne College, located in the town of Nelson, Lancashire, offers further education to 1,600 full-time students and 3,500 part-time adults. The college was founded during the reorganisation of education in Pendle in the early 1970s and created by the merger of several local sixth forms. 

Recent investments have included a £2m engineering facility, an all-weather sports pitch and gym, fully equipped science laboratories, and student study and social spaces. In January 2017, Nelson and Colne College launched a university centre to offer a range of higher education programmes in East Lancashire and beyond.
