Grade 1 Music Theory Games and Quizzes

(0)
The Grade 1 Music Theory pack, which is based on the current ABRSM music theory syllabus (2020 onwards), contains 26 games and activities plus 10 music quizzes. The games have been designed to require minimal preparation. Board games can be played immediately after printing. Games cards have straight edges and are accurately lined up so that they can cut quickly.  The games take an average of five minutes to play, meaning they can easily be used within a weekly instrumental lesson. The music quizzes are based on typical exam papers but condensed into one A4 sheet each, making them quicker to complete than full papers and reducing printing costs. Both UK and US terminology has been used where required. It was an enormous success with the vast majority achieving Distinction Grades. It was largely in thanks to Teaching with Ease’s excellent music games. I set up the “Music Theory Games Arcade” for them every lesson and they really loved it. It gave a really fun thing to look forward to in lessons. “Once the PDFs were downloaded, I could print them and laminate them meaning we can use them time and time again in the build up to their exams.”

It includes: - Quavers/eighth notes - Crotchets/quarter notes - Minims/half notes - Dotted minims/dotted half notes - Semibreves/whole notes Each card contains a series of notes adding up to 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6 beats. Note Value Snap can be played as a quick 5 or 10-minute game during lessons or your pupils can spend longer playing it at home as part of their practice time. Encourage children to reinforce their knowledge by showing their sibling or parent how to play - they'll love taking on the role of teacher. These cards can also be used as flashcards with adults. The pack includes two versions. Version one has a patterned back. Fold over each card and laminate it for a hardwearing copy that can be used in every lesson. Version two has no back so you can print it directly on to card.

Complete Beginners' Piano Pack for Children

(0)
Aimed at young beginner pianists, this pack contains 21 games to help students take their first steps on their musical journey. The games take children from their first exploration of the sounds pianos make into understanding the concept of higher and lower pitches. They then focus on finding the different notes on the piano keyboard before moving on to reading their first notes on the staff. Note identification games use five-finger positions surrounding middle C (treble clef C4-G4 and bass clef F3-C4) and also from the C below middle C (bass clef C3-G3) so you can select the hand position on which your method book focuses. Note length games use crotchets, minims, dotted minims and semibreves (quarter notes, half notes, dotted half notes and whole notes). The games have been designed to require minimal preparation and not to use excessive ink. Board games can be played immediately after printing. Games cards have straight edges and are accurately lined up so that they can be cut quickly. The games take an average of five minutes to play, meaning they can easily be used within a weekly instrumental lesson. . Unicorns Forever - Time Signatures

(0)
Harness your unicorns and race them around the board in this magical time signature game. In Unicorns Forever, players are challenged to create matching sets of time signatures and bars using a variety of note and rest cards. The game uses the 2/4, 3/4 and 4/4 time signatures. Note and rest lengths included are semibreves (whole notes), dotted minims (dotted half notes), minims (half notes), dotted crotchets (dotted quarter notes), crotchets (quarter notes), dotted quavers (dotted eighth notes), quavers (eighth notes) and semiquavers (sixteenth notes). The rhythms have all been made up to whole beats so each note/rest card adds up to one, two, three or four beats. Players move their unicorn one step around the board for each set they create. For the non-unicorn lovers of the world, the game can also be played with just the cards, seeing who can create the most sets in five or 10 minutes.

My First Hands Together Piano Sight Reading
TeachingWEaseTeachingWEase

My First Hands Together Piano Sight Reading

(0)
Some students find the transition from Grade 1 sight reading, where only one hand is played at a time, to Grade 2 sight reading, where the hands often play together, to be a sudden change. This book is born out of individual pages that I started writing for one of my students to introduce her very gradually to sight reading with both hands together as none of the books I could find had enough easy examples. Now a complete digital book of 185 sight reading examples that increase in difficulty very gradually, it is perfect for the students who need more time to build their confidence and ability. All of the examples are in five finger positions, the hands never having to move within the piece. I have followed the ABRSM Grade 2 sight parameters for sharps and flats, time signatures and note range. The rhythms have been kept simple. This book is the ideal precursor to working on Grade 2 standard pieces. Features: 185 sight reading examples. That’s more than enough to do three a week for an entire year! Simple pieces with the emphasis on a very slow, gradual increase in difficulty Examples with right hand and left hand melodies 2/4, 3/4 and 4/4 time Up to two sharps or two flats
