Dear John: The forecast is hot and humid on interview day. What to wear?

Q

I have an interview on Friday, and apparently it’s going to be a hot and humid day. What is acceptable for a woman to wear in this situation? I think I may drown in my own secretions if I wear a suit, and I don’t think that will be particularly appealing to the panel!!

A

At least you won’t be expected to wear a tie. I guess a sensible dress, if you own one, or something you have worn on school experience and would feel comfortable wearing in the classroom, especially if you have to do a demonstration lesson first. You can always carry a jacket. But, I am no fashion guru. Hopefully, other readers of the clinic may be able to offer fashion advice like fiestagal. The emphasis is on neat and presentable. Any school that didn’t make allowances if it is really hot and humid might not be somewhere you would want to work anyway.
