One-to-one careers advice
At key times during your teaching career personal guidance can make all the difference in whether you take the right route to a fulfilling career or end up feeling frustrated.
We have designed a premium face-to-face career counselling service to help you make the right career choices and to give you an edge in your search for the next job. The face-to-face session lasts one hour.
During the interview you will receive tailor-made advice on how to present your work experience and qualifications to the best effect. This guidance is independent, authoritative and honest; it can make a big difference in getting shortlisted for the job you want.
The one-to-one sessions are designed to match every stage of a teaching career and give specific guidance on:
- Reviewing your experience to date
- Identifying your strengths
- Working out whether you are applying for the right jobs for you
- How to sell your skills and experience
- Where the jobs are
- When is the best time to apply
- Statistically how many jobs you will have to apply for to succeed
- Whether further qualifications will put you ahead of other candidates
What do you get?
The One-to-One career advice interview takes place at the TES London offices during which you will get answers to the specific questions you can pose beforehand or ask on the day.
The service is supported by TheoGriff, who is the resident expert on the Jobseekers and Independent Schools forums on TES Connect. With 20 years experience in senior management in a variety of educational establishments Theo is well placed to support your career aspirations. There is also a possibility of organising a face-to-face session locally or to undertake the consultation by telephone
In addition, you will get guidance on your CV and application letters and a follow-up action plan.
