TSL announces the acquisition of Schoolquote - www.schoolquote.co.uk

14th October, 2010

TSL Education Ltd ("TSL") is pleased to announce the acquisition of Schoolquote, a major provider of online procurement solutions for schools.

Schoolquote provides innovative and secure buying resources for individual schools and communities of public sector organisations. Its range of "free to buyer" tools brings together the buying knowledge and buying powers of buyers with similar needs. Established in 2004 and based in Witney Oxfordshire, the company became the number one buying tool in the education sector with it’s intelligent Buying communities, winning a prestigious CIPS award.

Commenting on this announcement, Louise Rogers, CEO of TSL said: "We are delighted that, through this acquisition, we have the basis for offering schools a free and innovative service to help them make buying decisions improving the quality of their purchases and saving them time, money and resources. Schoolquote joins a suite of free products and services designed specifically for schools including HireWire, the free applicant tracking and online recruitment service and TES Resources, the UK’s largest free lesson plan and resource bank for teachers. At a time when everybody is having to make cuts in spending we are confident that Schoolquote as part of the TSL family will be a significant addition to this growing portfolio of free products and services we already offer."

Schoolquote gives schools 3 innovative ways to get products and services for their organisation. It is a secure, efficient and an audit proof way to get quotations from competing suppliers and is also a busy forum to get help and advice from fellow buyers in other schools. Schoolquote allows schools to search and use quotations that have previously been sent to fellow buyers, select their own quantities and start a dialogue with that supplier. It allows schools to also create a request from scratch and get bespoke quotations from competing suppliers. Schoolquote also offer a "STORM" service for groups of schools to achieve greater buying power through economies of scale.
