1st March is World Book Day. Now in it's 15th year, it's time to start planning for the biggest World Book Day celebration yet.

As the teaching partner for World Book Day 2012, TES has brought together the best teaching resources on the authors behind the special £1 World Book Day books and the World Book Day App for teens.

Share your best teaching ideas for World Book Day 2012 and you could win a Kindle and £125 worth of National Book Tokens!

Tell us how you'll be getting your pupils excited about World Book Day 2012. What activities are you planning? How will you decorate your classroom? What costumes will your pupils wear?

To enter, simply upload your ideas as a lesson plan or resource, tagging it to the event 'World Book Day' in March:



There are two categories in the competition, one for Primary and one for Secondary.

Primary


Judging the Primary entries will be Jeremy Strong, bestselling author of The Hundred-Mile-an-Hour Dog series. Jeremy's new book The Hundred Mile-an-Hour Dog Goes for Gold is out on 1 March.

First prize: A Kindle, a £125 National Book Token and a signed copy of Jeremy Strong's new book.

10 runners-up: A signed copy of Jeremy Strong's new book.



Secondary


Judging the Secondary entries will be Sophie McKenzie, author of the award-winning Girl, Missing. Sophie's new book is Falling Fast, the first in a new series.

First prize: A Kindle, a £125 National Book Token and a signed copy of Sophie McKenzie's new book.

10 runners-up: A signed copy of Sophie McKenzie's new book.

Now in its 15th year, it's time to start planning for the biggest World Book Day celebration yet. Here's what to look out for this year:

The books

This year there are EIGHT special £1 World Book Day books for children aged 2-12, written by a stellar list of authors and illustrators

The book token

More than 14 million children and young people will receive a £1 book token which entitles them to either a FREE £1 World Book Day book OR £1 off any book or audio book costing £2.99 or more. The voucher redemption dates are 27 February–25 March 2012.

The World Book Day App for teens

contains six brand new stories by top teen authors including Charlie Higson, Malorie Blackman, Anthony Horowitz and Neil Gaiman plus sample chapters, videos and news that will be updated throughout the year.
