What is an event?

An event is a scheduled slot of time in your calendar in which you plan to do something, such as a lesson, a meeting, lunch etc. All events show in agenda, day, week, month and term view. An event can be as simple as a title with a start and end time, or it can be more detailed with a description, attached binders, an assigned colour and specific days chosen on which it reoccurs in the calendar.

How do I open an event?

To open an event, simply select the event in day, week, month or term view in the calendar and click the blue ‘Open’ button at the top of the panel. Alternately you can hover over the event until a tooltip appears, then click on the event title inside the tooltip.

Double clicking will not work.

How do I create a new event?

Simply click on the box titled ‘New Event’ at the top of the calendar panel and you will be taken to an empty event panel. To find out more click here.

If you want to create an event on a particular date or time just select that date in the calendar first and then click the ‘New Event’ box. The time and date you selected will automatically show in your new event.

How do I rename an event?

Select the event in day, week, month or term view and click on the blue ‘Open’ button at the top of the panel, click on the event name to edit it, type in a new name and press enter.

How do I change the colour of an event?

Select the event in day, week, month or term view and click on the blue ‘Open’ button at the top of the panel, then just click on the up or down arrow to the right of the event title to select a new colour from the 7 options available.

How do I change the start or end time of an event?

In day, week, month or term view, simply hover over the top or bottom edge of an event until a small set of blue arrows appear. Then just drag the edge of the event up or down to the desired time. Alternatively you can open the event by selecting the event and clicking the blue ‘Open’ button at the top of the panel. Then just select a new start or end time from the options available.

If you select ‘All-day’ the event will run from midnight to midnight of the date(s) chosen. It always appears at the top of each day on the calendar and it can not be resized.

What is the shortest duration an event can be?

Each event must be a minimum of 10 minutes.

What is an all day event?

An all day event runs from midnight to midnight of the date(s) chosen. It always appears at the top of each day on the calendar.

How do I make an event repeat or recur?

You can choose to have your event repeat on specific days. Simply open the event by selecting the event and clicking the blue ‘Open’ button at the top of the calendar panel. Next to the area where you set the start and end time for the event, you will see an option to choose how often it occurs, such as once, daily, weekly, monthly. It will default to ‘once’ but if you choose a different option, it will then show this event in your calendar in multiple places depending upon what you chose.

When you edit a reoccurring event it will automatically update all instances of this event in your calendar.

How do I add a binder to an event?

Open the event you want to add your binder to by selecting the event in day, week, month or term view and clicking the blue ‘Open’ button at the top of the calendar panel. Go back to the binders panel and select the binder(s) you wish to add to that event. Then simply drag and drop the binder(s) directly into the ‘Drag Binders Here’ box at the bottom of the open event panel. You can add up to 5 binders to an event.

You cannot add a file or a folder to an event yet, but you can add a file to a new binder and then add the binder to an event.

Can I drag my binders directly into the calendar to create a new event?

Yes. Simply select the binders you wish to add, then drag and drop them into the ‘New Event’ box at the top of the calendars panel. This will create a new event, containing your dropped binders. You can add up to 5 binders to an event.

Can I drag a file or folder directly from my storage into an event?

No, you cannot add a file or folder to an event, but you can add a file to a binder and then add the binder to an event.

How many binders can I add to each event?

You can add a maximum of 5 binders to an event.

If I update the details of a binder, will it also update in the event it is attached to?

Yes. If you make any changes to a binder, the updates will also appear in the event.

Can I attach the same binder to different events?

Yes. You can attach a binder to as many different events as you choose.

How do I remove a binder from an event?

Simply click on the blue ‘X’ button to the left of the binder title.

How do I delete an event?

Select the event you wish to delete in day, week, month or term view in the calendar and click on the blue 'Delete' button at the top of the panel.

If you cannot see the ‘Delete’ button, just expand the width of the calendars panel and the button will appear.

Can I cancel an event that I started to create?

No. You can only delete an event once it has been created.

If I delete an event, will it delete the binder in that event from my binders?

No. The binders will still be available in your binders panel.

How do I move an event?

You can move an event in day, week, month or term view. Simply drag the event to the desired location. Alternatively you can open the event by selecting the event and clicking the blue ‘Open’ button at the top of the panel. Then just set a new date or time from the options available.

CALENDAR VIEWS

What is an agenda view?

The agenda view shows the next 7 days of upcoming events in your calendar in a simple list. Only days that contain events are displayed in agenda view. The purpose of the agenda is to show you your events coming up quickly and easily, you can not organise your events from this view.

To edit or move your events just click on the day, week, month or term filter in the top right of the calendar panel. If you cannot see the filter options, just expand the width of the calendars panel and the filters will appear.

How do I see my calendar by day, week, month or term?

Simply click on the day, week, month or term filter options in the top right of the calendar panel and the panel will expand to the widest view available.

How do I view a different day, week, month or term than the one I’m on?

You can navigate through consecutive days, weeks, months or terms by clicking the blue arrows to the right and left of the title at the top of the calendar.

Can I add a recurring calendar event for the school term only?

Currently, it is not possible to add a recurring calendar event for the school term only.
