TES and the Poetry Society present a poetry workshop with John Hegley suitable for primary-age pupils to help you celebrate World Poetry Day at your school. The workshop includes poetry performances from John and mini-poetry writing activities for your students to try. It will support your students in approaching and enjoying poetry as well as enhancing their writing skills. Suitable for students aged 5 - 11.



About our guest:

John Hegley is a much-loved performance poet, comedian, musician and songwriter. He has produced ten books including Glad to Wear Glasses, My Dog is a Carrot and Five Sugars Please. He is best known for his surreal and comic poetry and is often heard performing on BBC radio. He is an experienced schools poetry workshop leader, and has been described as 'the Spike Milligan of our time' and 'comedy's poet laureate' by the Independent.
