Calling all teachers at book-loving primary schools! Would you like to win a visit from world-famous rock puppy Bookaboo, and star in an episode broadcast on TV? If the answer is yes, then this is the competition for you!
We’re searching for the UK’s best storytelling primary school teacher who knows how to bring books to life in a school that loves books! The winning teacher will star alongside Bookaboo in a special episode to be aired on CITV and ITV this autumn. The episode will be filmed in the winning teacher’s school, featuring the teacher reading aloud Bookaboo-style to a class and the famous rock puppy, who will attend the school as a guest pupil for the day!
How do I enter?
Your video should also include footage of some creative and innovative artwork that has been created by your pupils, to shows us that you all love to read e.g. drawings of characters from the book or interesting front cover designs.
Send us your entry via email to TES@tes.co.uk. Attach your video if it’s less than 10MB in size, otherwise please email us a link to download the video from a file sharing website such as MailBigFile or Yousendit along with your entry form.
All entries must be received before 11.59pm on Sunday 23 June 2013.
Who can enter this competition?
All UK primary school teachers can enter this competition. They can teach at any primary school level, however during the filming of the programme the winning teacher will be required to read to a year one or a year two class from their school.
Your video should:
- Be less than 3 minutes long
- Be less than 50MB in size
- Be in one of these formats: WMV, MPG, MPEG, AVI, MP4 or MOV
- Not feature any music or graphics
- Feature artwork created by children in your class, but not feature the children themselves
How will we choose the winner?
All the videos that meet the requirements of the competition will be put forward to a TES and Happy Films judging panel, who will pick their six favorite videos. These videos will be put onto the TES Connect website to give members the chance to vote for two semi-finalists. Lucy Goodman, creator of Bookaboo, will select the winner from the two semi-finalists.
