  • Understanding of, and sensitivity to, the ethos of the Catholic School.
  • Qualifications in Occupational Therapy and eligibility for registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia.
  • Demonstrated experience working with children with a physical impairment to achieve independence and positive educational outcomes.
  • Highly developed communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills necessary for good working relationships.
  • Demonstrated skills in the implementation of programs and training of support personnel particularly within the school setting.
  • Ability to operate in teams and develop professional networks.
  • Capacity for effective time and workload management to optimize the achievement of agreed goals.
  • Demonstrate commitment to ongoing personal and professional development.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with limited supervision.
  • Possession of a current driver’s licence and willingness to undertake travel within the diocese.


General Info:

The Townsville Catholic Education Office is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified Occupational Therapist. The successful applicant will be a member of the Student Support Services team, assisting schools to provide the most appropriate educational experiences for their students with physical impairments.

The position will be based in the Townsville Catholic Education Office and will entail significant amounts of time spent in Catholic Schools across the Diocese. This position is a part-time contract ending 31st December 2014.
