Scotch Oakburn College is seeking an experienced professional counsellor to join our Wellbeing team offering counselling services to our junior school students from Early Learning (3 years) to Year 5 (11 years).

 

This is a permanent part-time position of approximately 0.5 full-time equivalent (FTE),commencing Term 3, 2013 (start date to be negotiated with the successful candidate).

The Position:

Counsellor – Junior School works as part of a wider College Wellbeing team and is based on our Elphin Campus, responsible for the delivery of counselling services for our Early Learning to Year 5 students, using practices that are consistent with College wide policies and strategic frameworks, particularly as they relate to student learning and development.

 

Counsellor – Junior School will be an experienced professional with a depth and breadth of demonstrated knowledge, skills and experience in all child developmental issues.

 

Counselling training is essential as is eligibility for membership of the relevantprofessional society- eg APS, AASW. Whilst not essential, applicants who have demonstrated experience in an educational environment teaching and counselling school children from Prep to Year 5 and working with their families would be desirable.
