A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a full-time Data Management Officer within our Research, Evaluation & History Unit.

 

 

The role

SDN is committed to continuous quality improvement based on evidence. The Research, Evaluation and History Unit contributes to the organisation’s high level outcome of enhancing the quality of life and life chances of children by using evaluation findings to inform changes in practice.

As the Data Management Officer you will contribute to this goal by improving the foundations on which all evaluation activities are undertaken. Reliable and valid data is the backbone of evaluation, and you will bring your knowledge and experience in identifying data collection needs and system design to increase the quality of data collected at the organisational and program/service levels.

This position is on a fixed term contract until 31 July 2014.

 

Criteria

You will have:

- University qualifications in Social Science, Social Work, or any other discipline that includes a research component

- Demonstrated skills or experience in:

- Identifying data collection needs

- Designing systems that allow efficient and ethical collection of relevant and valid data

- Ensuring the collection of valid and reliable data

- Communicating effectively with internal colleagues at all levels

- Creating Documents and Reports for different audiences

- Seeking all relevant information so as to gain a deep understanding of what programs and services deliver and their data collection needs
