THE POSITION

Canberra Grammar School has a vibrant and progressive Design Art and Technology Department of six teachers, a dynamic group of highly qualified and committed

professionals. This department offers both Design and Technology and Visual Arts. We are seeking an inspirational, creative and collaborative teacher, conversant with a wide range of technologies including digital technologies. We are looking for a teacher to work with students to create quality designed solutions across a range of technology contexts to help the department continue its quest for excellence in Design teaching. This teacher is expected to be confident in using Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) as they are vital tools in this school for communication. The focus areas of design include: architectural, digital media, environmental, industrial, graphic design and resistant materials. 

The School offers a Year 7 program that links both Design Technology and Visual Art together. In Years 8-10 the students are offered Design Technology and Visual Art as independent electives. In Years 11 and 12, the School offers the NSW Higher School Certificate courses in Design and Technology and Visual Arts including the IB Diploma program in Visual Art. This position is for a teacher ready to teach HSC Design Technology. All lessons are held in specialist workshops and studios and there is a strong emphasis on the importance of knowledge, understanding and skills. The teachers are supported by two technical assistants.
