The aim of St Columba Anglican School is to be the most outstanding school on the Mid North Coast of New South Wales. Overview

 

The Director of Primary Curriculum will be an inspirational individual, able to combine their educational expertise with a passion for keeping abreast with curriculum changes/trends and leading the Primary School staff in ongoing Curriculum PD and resources.

 

Exceptional communication skills are required, as he/she will be on the Primary Executive team to bring Curriculum educational insights into innovative classroom practice, creative idea generation and educational practice, covering all available resources.

 

The Director of Primary Curriculum is on the Primary School Executive team and is responsible to the Head of Primary School for actively and collaboratively developing, promoting and implementing the school’s Curriculum policies and programs.

 

The Director of Primary Curriculum will be required to set standards for student behaviour and ensure that these are maintained. He/she will be instrumental in maintaining the standards of student behaviour the and School tone in such a way that it  reflects the high expectations of parents, Principal and School Council.

 

The Director of Primary Curriculum will be responsible for the general well-being, discipline and development of Stage 2 students.

 

General Characteristics

 

St Columba Anglican School appoints Christian staff who  are energetic, innovative and committed to the ethos of independent education. The successful applicant will be an outstanding educator with demonstrated leadership qualities, excellent interpersonal skills and experience in pastoral care and curriculum development. The appointee will report to the Head of Primary and teach in their respective stage (Stage 2). It is expected that applicants will possess the ability to create an exciting and challenging learning environment.

 

The Director of Primary Curriculum has a significant role as a member of the Primary School Executive in supporting and promoting quality teaching and learning.

 

The Director of Primary Curriculum may be required to ‘act-up’ for the Head of Primary School in his absence and uphold the routines and expectations of the school.
