SDN Children’s Services is looking for a part-time Early Childhood Educator (ECE) to join our supportive and innovative team.  As an ECE you will provide a high quality education and care service to children and families in our Early Education and Care Centre based in Woolloomooloo.   

 

This is to work Wednesday – Friday.

 

The centre

SDN Woolloomooloo, the oldest SDN centre, opened in 1905 but has been in its current location since 1920. The centre is located in a quiet corner of Woolloomooloo. The centre is licensed for 90 children from 6 weeks to school age, with six separate rooms providing intimate spaces to learn and grow.

 

Description

- Direction of other staff within the group, including allocation of room duties

- Develop, plan and implement a quality child care and education programming in consultation with team

- Communicate positively and openly with children

- Identify and respond to infant’s cues and needs

- Develop and maintain nurturing relationships

- Create a stimulating, positive and appropriate environment to foster and support development (physical, social, emotional, language, creative and cognitive)

- Create an environment which ensures trust and security and provides flexible routines and smooth transitions

 

 

Criteria

To be considered for the role you will have:

- A Diploma of Children’s Services (Centre Based Care)

- A certified supervisor number

- Current Frst Aid Certificate

- Demonstrated ability to actively promote children’s confidence and creativity through your individual skills or learnings

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

- Initiative and the capacity to work with minimal supervision

- Experience in a similar role
