A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a part-time Early Childhood Teacher within our Early Childhood Links program currently located in Mascot.This role is to work 4 days per week (days of work negotiable) and is on a fixed terms contract for 12 months.     


The role

In this role you will bring your passion for working with children to our multi-disciplinary team to provide quality learning and development outcomes for children, from birth to eight, with disability and/or developmental delays. You will work closely with a team of dedicated professionals to build the capacity of the Early Childhood sector to support the inclusion of children with a disability into their community. 


The program

Early Childhood Links aims to:

  • Build knowledge, skills and capabilities of staff in mainstream settings or community based activities to include children with disability.
  • Facilitate links between families & services so that families can access and participate in community activities.
  • Assist children with disability to access therapy supports.
  • Support transitional pathways for families and children into mainstream settings.


About you

You will have:

  • Early Childhood trained teacher with qualifications and experience.
  • Experience working effectively with children with disabilities or development delays in mainstream services and inclusive settings using strengths-based, family centred and activity based approaches.
  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of play based early childhood intervention practices
  • Committed to the inclusion of children from birth to 8 years with a disability or developmental delays in mainstream children’s services.
  • Demonstrated skills working in a trans-disciplinary and multi-agency environment with the ability to form effective and positive working relationships;
  • Demonstrated ability to use strategies that help strengthen parent’s capacity to meet the learning needs of their child.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a trans-disciplinary and multi-agency environment
  • Demonstrated ability and/or understanding of coaching, facilitating and bridging approaches to build the capacity of adults working in centres with young children
  • Excellent influencing and negotiation skills and problem solving approaches;
