Pulse Child Care Crew is seeking a qualified Early Childhood Teacher or Diploma trained Child Care Professional who has experience within Early Intervention to join a leading not-for-profit organisation who has more than ‘100 years’ experience educating and caring for children. This role is ideal for anyone who is looking for a challenge with a rewarding experience and believes in the best start for children with additional needs.

 

Your role will entail providing support and guidance to staff in a variety of Long Day Care and Preschools where they have children that need extra support.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Plan and implement case work strategies.
  • Provide ongoing reports and be accountable for allocated Brighter Futures early intervention program family casework strategies.
  • Facilitate the development of a transition plan when the family exits the program
  • Act as a primary support to all allocated Brighter Futures early intervention program families throughout their involvement in the program
  • Make independent decisions relating to the day to day case management of families, with reference to the Area Manager where appropriate

 

To be considered for the role you will have:

  • University qualifications in social work or other relevant degree.
  • Demonstrated experience in case management, counselling and assessment experience in working with children and families.
  • Excellent experience in relationship building, negotiation and influencing, with a range of stakeholders such as government and community groups
  • Knowledge and understanding of a variety of different cultural and religious groups
  • Knowledge of community services for referrals, basic health issues, relevant legislation, child development theory and learning approaches
  • Knowledge and experience in aiding in the development of children and young people
  • Knowledge of empowerment techniques including use of appropriate language and gestures
  • Driver’s license and own transport
