Continuing its tradition for excellence in the education of girls, Melbourne Girls Grammar is seeking an inspirational and visionary educator to embrace the role of Head of Drama.


This position is responsible for co-ordinating, leading and promoting the vision and philosophy of Drama within the School and broader community. The Drama Faculty is responsible for curriculum development in the areas of Drama and Theatre Studies.


With an outstanding curriculum approach and collaborative leadership, this individual is dedicated to the implementation of high quality learning and co-curricular programs. They will lead our Co-curricular Program consisting of several major productions, involving students from both the Middle and Senior Years. They will help inspire and develop enthusiastic, authentic opportunities for girls to lead, learn and be a part of a dynamic community building activity.


The successful applicant will have the ability to:

  • Model and lead as an expert teacher in the area.
  • Design and implement professional learning experiences for Drama staff focused on contemporary pedagogy, literacy development and individual student differences.
  • Develop and maintain dynamic and inclusive co-curricular and experiential learning opportunities that develop the skills and passions of our students and contribute positively to the cultural landscape of the School community.
  • Demonstrate innovative use of ICT and multi-media experiences in the delivery of the Drama curriculum and co-curricular program.

The successful applicant must be eligible for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching and must hold a current Police Check or be in the process of obtaining one, in order to work at Melbourne Girls Grammar.
