Kincoppal – Rose Bay, School of the Sacred Heart, is a leading Independent Catholic day and boarding school founded in 1882.


Responsible to the Director of Boarding, the Head of House is a member of the Boarding Team. As a live-in position, this role is of a pastoral nature and manages the daily occurrences within the Boarding House residence.


The Head of House has responsibility for all the Boarders in their House. At Sheldon, this includes approximately 40 senior students. 


In addition to their allocated classes, the Head of House is on duty 3 nights per week Monday to Friday and finishes at 8.00 pm. The position holder is also on-call on a rotational basis (one weekend a month) and expected to attend Mass with the Boarders.


We are looking for qualified teachers with the ability to:

  • Support the ethos and mission of KRB
  • Build a strong sense of community
  • Foster a sense of belonging and loyalty to Boarding and Day Schools
  • Liaise closely with parents and guardians
  • Implement a behaviour management system of pastoral care
  • Ensure study evenings run effectively
  • Take responsibility for Boarding House maintenance and logistics

Candidates must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, and be able to use systems to input and output data and information.  A willingness to learn and engage with Google Apps (e.g. Box) and Learning Management Systems (e.g. Moodle) is also essential.
