Position description:

Early Childhood Management Services (ECMS) is currently seeking an enthusiastic, self-driven, results focused HR professional.  Working closely within our close-knit HR team of professionals there will be loads of variety and challenges to develop your HR skills further.

ECMS is a non-for-profit community enterprise with over 600 employees that provides early childhood education and care for children, parents, families and communities across 70 sites in the Melbourne metropolitan area.

The Position

The role works closely with the General Manager People and Culture to develop policies and programs that align with the organisation’s business strategies.


You will consult with staff at all levels in the organisation on issues such as:

  • recruitment and selection;
  • change management;
  • employee relations / counselling;
  • job design;
  • performance management;
  • remuneration and benefits;
  • health, safety and wellbeing;
  • award and policy interpretation / compliance; and
  • employee development and training.   


Ideally we are seeking an HR or related degree qualified candidate with 2-3 years HR generalist experience within a service industry who is looking to step up into a broad and challenging role.     


To be successful in this role you will have excellent communication and written skills with high attention to detail and the ability to work either autonomously or as part of an integrated team. You will have a ‘can-do’ demeanour and be positive and approachable in your dealings with clients.


You will also be tech savvy and assist the team to build effective on-line systems that produce HR reports which better inform the leadership team on the state of HR practices within the organisation.


You must be able to obtain a Working with Children’s Check. Drivers Licence and a car is desirable, as some travel within Melbourne Metro may be required.
