Only About Children (Oac) is dedicated to providing the very best early childhood education, development and care to children aged 0 to 5 years at our early childhood education and preschool Campuses. As a result of this commitment a newly created role has been developed to scope, facilitate and manage the Oac Traineeship Development Program. Reporting to the People and Growth Manager (HR) the L&D Trainer will oversee the Oac Trainee Program, employed in a full-time permanent basis in McMahons Point, Sydney.

 

This role is responsible to develop and deploy a comprehensive Oac Trainee Program which is administered throughout the year and ensures ongoing mentoring and coaching in children services development. Working closely with key stakeholders this individual will drive the Trainee program to ensure Oac has on board a strong talent pool to progress into more experience childhood education professionals.

 

Please note that other areas of L&D may be expanded and included into this role. This is dependent upon growth in the role and ability to manage multiple L&D programs.

 

Key Accountabilities include:

  • Develop a comprehensive training and development program linked through to national qualification standards within the Children Services Education space. 
  • Working closely with TAFE and other recognised providers, develop an integrated training model that allows Oac to be above industry development standards. 
  • Manage the ongoing coaching and mentoring programs for Trainees in conjunction with Centre Directors and the Children Services specialists within Oac. 
  • Build strategic relationships with training providers, apprenticeship providers and targeted sourcing strategies to attract Trainees into the Oac fold.


Essential Criteria:

  • University qualification in a recognised Human Resources or Early Childhood field
  • Certificate IV Training and Assessment (mandatory)
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role
  • Ability to develop training programs, clear learning objectives 
  • Ability to facilitate small to large groups through different facilitation strategies 
  • Ability to manage projects, strong time management and attention to detail skills
  • Above average written and verbal communication skills
  • Current drivers licence


This individual will be part of a strong HR team and work very closely with the Children Services specialist team and Oac Centre Directors.
