Xavier College is a coeducational Catholic High School offering an educational experience modelled on the life of St Francis Xavier; an experience highlighted by caring, understanding, respect and personal achievement, firmly grounded in the Catholic Ethos.


In 2014 Xavier will introduce a BYOD model, commencing with Year 7. It is committed to the philosophy and practice of mixed ability classes 7 - 10 and is developing programming in line with the Wiggins and McTighe’s Understanding by Design framework.   • Be able to innovate, develop and lead change in learning and teaching.
  • Have a passion for Catholic education and be able to support the integration of Catholic values across the curriculum
  • Have a keen desire to improve student and teaching learning outcomes and ensure that learning programs are best practice in achieving this.
  • Work collaboratively within the College in supporting and delivering the Diversity is the Norm agenda.
  • Drive school improvement through effective leadership of teacher led learning teams and Teaching and Learning KLA team.
  • Oversee the management of structures that facilitate learning.
  • Lead teacher professional learning, building on teacher strengths and identifying areas for development.
  • Monitor teacher performance management in line with the CEDP /AITSL processes for teacher performance and review.
  • Be able to collate, validate and use data to support a self-transforming school culture that informs and enhances teaching and learning practices
  • Ensure the structures that support student and teacher learning include a relevant curriculum and a timetable that supports learning.
  • Support Pastoral and Learning Coordinators in the learning support of students
  • Be a collaborative and resourceful member of the College Leadership team
