Description

 

Xavier College is a coeducational Catholic High School offering an educational experience modelled on the life of St Francis Xavier; an experience highlighted by caring, understanding, respect and personal achievement, firmly grounded in the Catholic Ethos.

 

In 2014 Xavier will introduce a BYOD model, commencing with Year 7. It is committed to the philosophy and practice of mixed ability classes 7 - 10 and is developing programming in line with the Wiggins and McTighe’s Understanding by Design framework. Xavier is a school embracing change and innovative pedagogy. It offers its teachers and students opportunities for personal growth and success.

 

In 2014 Xavier College will appoint a Leader of Wellbeing.

Criteria

 

  • Ability to collaborate with the Pastoral and Learning Coordinators in coordinating, the development, implementation and evaluation of an integrated wellbeing program
  • Ability to develop, implement and evaluate small group and individual wellbeing initiatives.
  • Ability to foster a team approach to wellbeing of students through contributing to Case management meetings.
  • Ability to co-ordinate home group support and for home group teachers in their work with students’ wellbeing
  • Gather resources and disseminate information and support for home group teachers in student wellbeing
  • Liaise with parents, students and staff for matters concerning wellbeing.
  • Liaise with community and referral agencies.
