Job Overview

Scotch College has a position available for a qualified and experienced Senior School Teacher.


This is a fixed term, full-time, six month contract from the beginning of 2014 to cover staff leave.


The successful candidate will be appropriately qualified with experience in teaching Visual Arts in Years 8-12 with knowledge of the Visual Arts and Design courses. He/she will possess specialist skills in teaching drawing and more than two of the following: sculpture, ceramics, graphic design, painting or printmaking. The successful candidate will also be able to demonstrate; awareness of contemporary art theory and sound skills in teaching Art History and an enthusiasm for curriculum development. Familiarity with information technology and visual arts software packages and knowledge and/or experience with delivery of the International Baccalaureate and MYP or Diploma programmes in Arts would be advantageous.


The successful candidate will be required to provide evidence of current registration with the Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia and a valid Working with Children clearance.

A cutting edge IT system has been introduced to ensure teachers have the latest technology at their disposal for the development and presentation of innovative teaching methods. An extensive co-curricular programme assists teachers build relationships with their peers, students and their families outside the classroom. The course management structure gives staff the opportunity to gain experience in managing and coordinating curriculum areas and the pastoral care process allows all staff to actively engage with boys and their parents.
