The Director of Schools invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced personnel for the following position in the Catholic Education Office:

 

Safety, Wellbeing & Professional Services Officer

 

Return to Work Coordinator

 

A temporary full time maternity leave replacement position commencing 28 January 2014 until 19 December 2014.

 

The successful applicant will support the implementation of the Diocesan Vision and Mission for Catholic Schools and provide efficient and effective management of the functions of workplace health and safety, workers compensation, return to work co-ordination and related HR services to schools and to the CEO.

 

The successful application will be required to:

 

  • Process Workers Compensation claims and manage all relevant correspondence to insurer within stator requirement’s
  • Coordinate and monitor progress of employee injuries and return to work plans with injured employee, treating Doctor
  • Liaise with insurer to ensure accounts are reconciled

 

Essential Criteria:

 

  • Capacity to understand and support the Catholic Church’s Mission in Catholic Education.
  • Demonstrated capacity to manage workers compensation claims, provide workplace health and safety advice, co-ordinate return to work plans and manage fitness for duty issues.
  • Highly developed communication skills including the ability to communicate both verbally and in writing, research and analyse problems, consult, liaise and negotiate with a broad range of people.
  • Demonstrated ability to cultivate productive relationships with key stakeholders including insurers, injured workers, Principals and Senior Officers.
  • High level conceptual, analytical and influencing skills.
  • Proven capacity to work independently and in team situations in a multitasking environment to manage projects and meet deadlines to deliver effective results.
  • Minimum of 3 years Workers Compensation Claims experience
  • A sound knowledge of the NSW Workplace Injury Management and Workers Compensation Act
  • Excellent case management and coordination skills combined with effective organisational and time management skills
  • Strong computer literacy
  • A current drivers licence and vehicle (travel costs will be compensated)
  • Introduction to R.T.W. Certificate
