Phase 5 Alternative Spellings, a TESiboard Phonics Collection

These TESiboard activities ask pupils to change the phonetic spellings within the sentences to the correct alternative spellings. The exercises cover all words from phase 5 ‘Alternative spellings for each phoneme’ of Letters and Sounds. Each activity listed below practises alternative spellings for one phoneme.

Easy to use, pupils simply find each misspelled word in the sentences, click on it and type in the correct spelling. Pupils can work independently on the exercises as each one is self-marking: press the question mark to check progress as you go. When all the misspells have been corrected, a certificate is created.

In addition, we have provided two narrative texts, with misspells to find and correct, drawing on pupils’ spelling knowledge from across the range of phase 5 suggested words.
