Teacher training programmes for modern foreign languages
To help teachers teach the languages curriculum, introduced in state-maintained schools from September 2014, the Government is providing £1.8 million over 2014-15 and 2015-16 to nine projects to support a series of teacher-led training programmes:

Association for Language Learning:
Covering French, German and Spanish, resources for key stage 2 include modules on grammar; speaking; writing; and progression. Resources for key stage 3 cover literature; speaking; translation; grammar; and extended writing.
University of Reading:
Resources are available for key stages 2 and 3, and cover listening, oral interaction, communication strategies and reading.
Rushey Mead Teaching School:
A range of resources available for key stage 2 covering French, German and Spanish, and primary to secondary transition.
Warrington Teaching School Alliance:
