Choosing what to wear to a teaching job interview requires some thought, but it shouldn’t be cause for panic. This is an opportunity to get the day off to a flying start.

How should I dress for my teacher interview?
Keep it simple
Wear professional attire that you feel good in. If you are feeling confident walking into that interview room you'll be more likely to come across as such when answering your interview questions.
Avoid casual clothes such as jeans and sneakers. Depending on the school's policy, they may allow this attire when working there but it’s not appropriate for an interview. It’s better to be overdressed than under if you are uncertain
Plan ahead
Make sure you think about how long it will take you to get there, and then plan to arrive early. You don’t want to be running into the school, panting for breath.
If you are driving, think about what time your interview is and if there will be traffic and whether you'll be able to park.

Don’t overheat
Check the weather forecast before you decide on an outfit. If in doubt, wear layers so you can adjust if the temperature changes. The last thing you want is to be pouring sweat or have the chatter of your own teeth spoil your performance.
Make sure you’re comfortable
Comfort is crucial, so make sure that you can move around with ease. Check that you can sit down and stand up comfortably at all times. You’ll be nervous enough without the added concerns over whether the seams in your ill-fitting suit are about to burst.
You don’t want to be worrying about what you are wearing when you should be thinking about the questions you are being asked.
Add just a pinch of personality
It’s OK to add a dash of personality to your outfit. Keep it professional and appropriate, but accessories can help showcase who you are as an individual.
The school want to know how you are and what you are going to bring to the team, so allow some of that to come through.
Be well groomed
Make sure your hair is brushed and looking tidy. If it’s been a while since you’ve had a haircut, maybe think about getting one, especially if you have multiple lined up.
You want to look your best and as though you have put in some effort rather than having just rolled out of bed.
