Values and vision

Balaam Wood School has high aspirations for every single one of its pupils. It aims to challenge and support every pupil to achieve the best results they possibly can.

The school believes every one of its members have a key role to play in creating a highly-motivated learning community, enjoying the challenge of raising standards and promoting pride in academic achievement.

It wishes for all of its pupils to develop a ‘can do’ attitude, be confident, adaptable, resilient and independent and develop all important employability skills.

Balaam Wood School also aims for its team of teachers and support staff to work in close partnership with parents, carers, governors and the wider community to offer the best educational opportunities for all of its pupils.

“Teachers promote literacy effectively. Pupils are encouraged consistently to write accurately, and articulate ideas orally. Governors have a good knowledge of the school, and are providing increasingly effective challenge to senior leaders. Staff take rigorous measures to ensure the wellbeing of pupils, many of whom have complex needs. Safeguarding is effective. The school promotes strong spiritual, moral and social values, including respect for those from different cultural backgrounds. Pupils receive good advice on their future careers.”
