Serving a number of small towns in the surrounding area, the school has around 900 pupils making it average-sized compared to other secondary schools of its type. The school moved onto its current site in 1970, but has seen extensive redevelopment and modernisation over the years, including a number of recent renovations to the school building, with more work planned on the school’s common areas. “The school has taken some positive steps to improve the arrangements for meeting young people’s needs. All staff across the school and enhanced provision are now able to access up-to-date information on young people’s additional support needs. This includes helpful information for staff on ways to meet young people’s needs. The school has introduced welfare meetings which enable staff to work together more effectively in supporting young people.”
