Values and vision

Bordesley Green Girls' School & Sixth Form stresses the importance of providing a supportive pastoral structure, insisting on challenging and effective classroom practice, and providing opportunities for its pupils to be recognised for a range of achievements. The school also expects to make “critical interventions” in students’ learning and to monitor, review and evaluate their progress.

The school also prides itself on the fact that its staff believe success breeds success and therefore look for and aim to build on the positive previous achievements of students while addressing areas of concern. At the school, it is also expected that staff be committed to raising achievement and recognising the strengths of linguistic, social and cultural diversity at the school.

“Leaders have developed a curriculum that is flexible and inclusive...Pupils’ outcomes are good....Non-qualification activity is varied and exciting. The school has a cosmic ray detector, engineering projects and plenty of ways in which students can become involved in work experience and community service. Pupils gain a range of personal skills from these activities. ”
