What people say about us

The Headteacher, Leaders and Governors have ensured that all members of the academy community adhere to its motto, “Think for yourself, act for others.” All staff, including support staff, promote equality of opportunity, creating an environment where students feel stimulated, supported and challenged. Consequently, students achieve well.”

- Ofsted, 2015

I appreciate the way my teachers push me to work out answers for myself, motivate and engage me in my own education. At Cheney, I have had experiences, made friendships and challenged myself in a way I otherwise would not have done.

- Alice, student

It is great to see that all students are given the opportunity to excel, whether it is in Mathematics, Sport, Drama, Music or French and that all these subjects are treated equally.”

- Parent of pupil

I love this school because right from the start I was able to make many friends and learn to be more independent. On my first day I was very nervous but this school has helped me be more myself. It challenges me in areas I am not one hundred per cent comfortable with.”

- Kheyan, student

My child enjoys his lessons and I would like to thank all the teachers for encouraging him to always push himself further.”
