Values and vision
Churchmead School aims to provide opportunities for each individual to develop and reach their full potential. The Christian values of courage, compassion and commitment are key to the learning and life of the school.
The secondary school aims to deliver quality learning opportunities through a personalised curriculum, holding to the principle that every learner matters. Teachers strive to produce pupils who are adaptable and flexible, with the necessary transferable skills for the 21st century. Pupils are instilled with an enthusiasm for learning and a thirst for knowledge.
The school’s Christian ethos aims to ensure respect for the rich diversity of the communities in which students live.
“The headteacher, ably supported by his senior team, provides good leadership. Teaching is securely good because there is a culture of continual improvement. Teachers know their pupils well and plan lessons to meet their needs. Churchmead offers an exceptionally caring and compassionate community where pupils thrive. Their spiritual, moral, social and cultural development is at the heart of the curriculum and is a particular strength of the school.”
