About City of London School

City of London School is an independent school based in London for boys aged 10-18.

The school site is situated by the Thames. It has over 20 acres of sports pitches. It was established in 1834 and moved to its present site in 1986. The school is governed by a board and by the City of London Corporation, which appoints its governors.

Values and vision

City of London School’s main aims are to encourage every pupil to be the best version of themselves. The Schools prepares pupils to be respectful, optimistic and inquisitive and ultimately kind in their outlook, aware of their wider community and ready for life after school in the 21st century.

The school aims for all pupils to fulfil their potential and leave with a love of learning. Staff are highly qualified specialists in their subjects and their own academic aspirations encourage pupils to develop their creative, intellectual and physical skills.

They teach pupils the value of constructive questioning and analysis and give them the tools with which to interrogate the world and to form their own ideas and opinions, as well as appreciating and respecting those of others.
