Values and vision
Craigholme School for Girls, through its smaller class sizes and single-sex educational approach, aims to offer comprehensive personalised support for its students within a close-knit and inclusive environment. The school intends to ensure that every one of its pupils is treated and valued as an individual, giving them every opportunity to progress and achieve not just academically but also across sports, music and the arts.
Sports are believed to play a key role in developing social skills, building teamwork and improving fitness. Craigholme School also recognises the social importance of music and the positive effects it can have on academic performance. All pupils are encouraged to take part in choral singing throughout their time at the school.
“Across the nursery and school, staff have a clear sense of direction and have a strong focus on ensuring children and young people achieve all that they can. The school has appropriate systems in place to support children’s well-being and safety. Children and young people are very positive about their school and about the opportunities they have. The Principal and senior managers ensure a strong focus on continuous improvement and on ensuring the needs of individuals are well met.”
