Derby Moor Academy
Derby Moor Academy, part of The Spencer Academies Trust; a highly-successful network of 12 schools (5 Secondary and 7 Primary): is an oversubscribed, 11 - 18, multicultural school with 1,490 on roll.
We are a thriving community which offers our students a range of opportunities that ensure they succeed when enter the real world. At Derby Moor we are rightly proud of the progress that all our students make. Our approach can be summed up in our school motto: “Together we succeed”. This motto is underpinned by our four values:
• Achievement – we believe that every student, regardless of background or personal circumstance can achieve.
• Aspiration – we believe that strong achievement is grounded in the best teaching and learning experience which ensures that all students will aspire to be the best they can be. We are committed to continuing professional development so that all staff members are supported to be the best they can be.
• High Expectations – we have high expectations of students, both in terms of achievement and behaviour.
• Community – we create and support a sense of belonging so that all members of the school community feel valued and are kept safe.
We want only the best for our students and we will go above and beyond to ensure that is the case.
We are fortunate to have a purpose-built school with state of the art facilities and extensive ICT provision. However, a school is so much more than a building, and you will only get a feel for what makes Derby Moor tick, if you come and see us in action. Please contact reception, and we will make an appointment for you to have a tour with myself or one of my Senior Team.
We believe in high standards of behaviour which support student success. Our students have varied needs, and ensuring a consistency of approach means that every student can receive the individual support that they require to make progress. In doing this we work in partnership with parents and carers at all stages so that no child is left behind.
Thank you for taking the time to consider an application to our school. It is strongly recommended that you come and visit the school to see us in action, before you decide to submit an application. You can arrange this by contacting reception.
