About Enfield County School for Girls
Welcome to Enfield County School for Girls, a well-established split-site school in the centre of Enfield with a tradition of high achievement and academic success.
Our aim is for every girl to have an outstanding education which will equip her with the resilience to deal with the demands that life makes of her and enable her to take her place in society as a well-educated, confident, caring and compassionate young woman.
Enfield County values of: Respect, Responsibility, Equality of Opportunity, Cooperation and Generosity of Spirit support our nurturing ethos. A strong sense of purpose, shared by teachers, support staff and governors ensures these values continue to develop and imbue all aspects of school life.
We have high expectations of all of our students, including excellent standards of behaviour, crucial to a successful learning environment. Our culturally diverse student body enriches the life of Enfield County, making it a vibrant and exciting place to learn which I am proud to lead.
We look forward to working in partnership with you and welcome you to visit our school to experience all that Enfield County has to offer.
Ms Jennifer Gumbrell Headteacher

•in which students can develop the skills and enthusiasm to become independent learners, at school and beyond
•where sharing and co-operation with others as well as individual achievement is encouraged
•which helps each student to develop self worth and take full advantage of opportunities
•which enables students to realise their full academic potential
Provide a CARING environment
•which values everyone and encourages tolerance, mutual respect and a spirit of community
•which encourages everyone to contribute actively to the life of the school and the community
•in which everyone may work purposefully in safe, calm, pleasant surrounding.
Provide a RESPONSIVE environment
•which endeavours to meet the changing needs of its individual students
•which enables students to be flexible and develop the social and leadership skills sought in the world outside
•which considers ideas and encourages a critical approach to the challenges of change
•which empowers students to make informed choices about their roles as women in society and in the world of work.
Our values are very important to us and it is expected that all who work and study at Enfield County will ‘buy’ into them. It is for this reason that they are widely published and referred to throughout the school year in assemblies and at Information Evenings and Induction Days. They are also part of the pack sent to all job applicants.
We know our self-worth, developing self-respect while respecting others, having respect for our own and everyone else’s learning, as well as respect for the environment
We take personal responsibility for our work, our learning, our duties, indeed for all of our own actions and for following school procedures
Equality of Opportunity
We ensure justice, fairness and equality of access to all school experiences
We work together for the common purpose of the wider community Generosity of Spirit We create an atmosphere of kindness, trust and forgiveness within the school community
“Leaders, managers and the governing body have a deep insight into the school’s many strengths and few areas for improvement. The highly effective headteacher and her leadership team are very well regarded by students, staff and parents and carers. Self-evaluation processes are accurate and are informed by rigorous monitoring. As a result, the school continues to improve.”
