Our Academy

Felixstowe Academy opened in September 2011, is located in an impressive 21st century education centre – a centre the whole community can be proud of.

With these fantastic resources, the academy currently delivers education to 1400 students, with approximately 200 in the academy’s sixth form.

We offer 21st century resources which serve to deliver a diverse range of exciting and challenging courses ti our students across all Key Stages.  Every student in Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5 is provided with an Apple IPad as part of our commitment to provide students with the latest teaching and learning tools.  We are pleased our students are at the forefront of the progression of technology in the classroom.

The academy has an excellent range of purpose built sport facilities; this includes two spports halls, County and Sport England standard netball courts, an all weather pitch, tennis courts and vast open grounds that cater for Football, Rugby, Cricket and Athletics.

Within the Arts, our music suite offers up to date facilities for music composition, performance and recordi9ng, whilst our Performance and Production Arts students benefit from two large performance areas alongside a well-equipped 440 seat Main Hall.

With the best Science resources, Art ad Photography studios, Computing suites alongside classroom and teaching resources in place for the next generation of students, we believe in partnership with parents and carers we will be ‘inspiring our young people to make our best better’.

Felixstowe Academy is a special place with caring staff who genuinely want the very best for every student. We hope you choose to become part of our academy that has everything in place to provide a perfect platform for our students to fulfill their hopes, dreams and aspirations.

We very much hope that if you decide to join our community here at Felixstowe Academy you will see all of this in action! Our students are bright, articulate young people and they will be only too willing to invite you in and show you around their school.  Please contact Mrs J Cumberland, at office@felixstoweacademy.org to arrange a tour!

Our Vision

Inspiration, Influence and Integrity

We are proud that our staff and students collectively created our vision statement, reflecting aspects already achieved by the community at Felixstowe Academy as well as our aspirations for the Academy.

The process of developing our vision included an opportunity for us to reflect on what the values of 'Inspiration', 'Influence' and 'Integrity' meant to us as a community and as individuals, before developing the words and ideas that would form our Vision.  These values along with our vision will enable us to provide the excellent education provision that this community deserves.

Inspire happy, confident and successful students who are independent and resilient.

Much of our focus is around raising standards, improving the quality of teaching and learning, improved curriculum provision and excellent care, guidance and support. Our key aim is to provide a unique balance of fun, excitement and a love of learning with high expectations and aspirations. This will culminate in a rich and vibrant learning environment where students work hard and dream big!

Felixstowe Academy is a special place with caring staff who genuinely want the very best for every child. We hope who you choose to become part of this wonderful school community that will provide a perfect platform for children to fulfil their hopes, dreams and aspirations.

Our Trust

We are proud to be part of Academies Enterprise Trust.

We are a national network of over 60 primary, special and secondary academies. We are passionately committed to inspiring children and young people.

We’ve undergone considerable change over the last two years. Bar the name above the door, everything about AET has changed: our leadership; our governance; our financial controls; our school improvement and our curriculum support.

AET is well on its way to becoming something rather wonderful – we are a family of schools that is dedicated to education that paves the way for our young people go on to lead remarkable lives. And it’s our people who are making that a living and breathing reality in our academies.

Each and every child inspired to choose a Remarkable Life.

To gather and motivate inspirational people committed to delivering an excellent education that launches children into remarkable lives.

At AET, we choose to be unusually brave. We're not afraid to challenge wrongs, to make the right call, even when it's both unusual and difficult to do so.

We are on the search for discovering what's possible. We look to create 'eureka moments' for our students, helping them discover a world of possibilities and opportunities.

We always strive to push the limits. We don't settle for less than excellent and we won't allow our students to either. We resolve to overcome any self-imposed limits.

We commit to being big-hearted. We choose to treat each other with kindness, warmth and care, believing that everybody matters and believing in one another.

AET is also an approved Apprenticeship Training Provider (through the ESFA) which allows us to deliver a wide range of apprenticeship programmes across the Trust and our school network. To find out more about what we offer click here
