About Foley's School

FOLEY’S SCHOOL CYPRUS

Located in the coastal town of Limassol, Foley’s is a private, independent, international, day-school catering for all age groups from Pre-Reception to Upper Sixth (3 years 8 months -19 years old). We currently have around 1100 pupils across the whole age range.

The 2019-20 academic year marked the 50th Anniversary of Foley’s School. It also marked the start of a new era, as the whole school has now moved to our new, purpose-built premises, over-looking Limassol, in Ayios Athanasios. The facilities at the new premises are state-of-the-art, with fully equipped laboratories, computer rooms, art rooms, music department and a large study/library. All classrooms have the latest interactive flat screens. Sports facilities include a sports hall, a 25m swimming pool and an all-weather athletics track surrounding an astroturf football pitch. The new site has an outdoor amphitheatre and, later, there will also be a 400-seat indoor theatre, which is still under construction.

The school aims to provide a well-rounded education combining the highest academic standards with a wide range of extra-curricular activities, in a friendly, secure and disciplined environment.

We have pupils from a very wide range of backgrounds and nationalities - around 50 different countries being represented. All lessons (apart from Greek and foreign language lessons, of course!) are taught in English. We broadly follow the UK National Curriculum at primary and secondary level, although this is adapted slightly to make it more relevant to international pupils.

The primary section of the school is a place for children to grow in confidence and to discover their talents within a caring and nurturing environment. The educational programme is based on the UK National Curriculum, adapted to meet the needs of the international community.

At secondary level, pupils are prepared for IGCSEs and AS/A levels and the pupils of Foley’s consistently achieve excellent results in these examinations. For example, in last year's IGCSE exams, 99% of pupils from the school achieved A*-C and 85% A*/A grades. At A level 93% achieved A*-C with 58% A*/A.

The vast majority of our school leavers go on to top universities. Most tend to go to the UK, the rest to other countries in Europe and the Middle East as well as the USA, Canada, Australia.

Cyprus offers a safe and comfortable lifestyle, whilst the school offers a disciplined but friendly environment, with well-motivated boys and girls and pleasant, highly professional colleagues

What people say about us

Twenty years ago, I met two young ladies. So impressed by their confidence and good manners, I asked them which school they went to. They told me Foley’s. From then I always knew if I had children I would send them there. Now my children are in their last year at Foley’s, I can say that they have the same qualities as those two girls. Foley’s not only provides a good education, they also provide them with life skills that they need in their futures. I am now confident to send them into the big wide world.

We never regretted our decision to send our children to Foley’s School. The many awards for academic excellence speak for themselves, but you also have a responsible and sensitive management, a safe learning environment, involvement in charity work throughout the year and participation in island wide competitions. Most importantly, you have teachers that really care for their pupils (who come from so many different cultures and backgrounds), and make a valuable contribution to their development into great adults.
