Vision and values
Gamlingay Village College’s ethos centres on teamwork. The school works hard to create a three-way partnership between itself, parents and pupils, aspiring through this relationship to build a teaching and learning environment where all students to achieve their full potential.
Supporting individuals to attain academic excellence is viewed as important, but the college also aims to ensure that everyone who attends the school is confident and happy and develop the skills they need to be successful in life after school. Pupils are actively encouraged to make choices, knowing that they are in a safe and supportive environment. They are given guidance on how to know, understand and exercise their rights and personal freedoms and how to exercise these safely.
“The school provides a broad and balanced curriculum and, by sharing some teachers with the local upper school, it is able to offer specialist teaching in subjects such as French to pupils in all year groups. The close relationship between the middle and upper school means that pupils in Year 8 are confident about moving on and are looking forward to the next phase of their education."
