Values and vision
Harris Central Sixth Form Academy expects its students to have high expectations of themselves. It wishes for them to be unafraid of competition and to seek out new challenges. It is intended that their long-term goals will stretch them and that they will know how to take the appropriate steps towards meeting them.
The college wishes for its students to not be discouraged by mistakes but instead to learn from them. Students are encouraged to use different approaches to solve problems and to not give up if they do not succeed at the first attempt. The college aims to foster an environment where students encourage each other. It is hoped that they will celebrate not just their own successes but those of their peers.
Harris Central Sixth Form Academy aims for its students to have a strong moral code and a desire to help others. It expects them to understand the impact that their words and actions have and make their choices accordingly. Students at the college will learn about cultures and groups other than their own and are taught to be interested in the ideas of others.
