About Hebron School
Established in 1899, Hebron is an independently managed, Christian, international, co-educational residential School. It is recognised by the Government of India with permission to follow the English National Curriculum which culminates in the International General Certificate of Secondary Education examinations (year 11), and the General Certificate of Education Advanced Level - AS examinations (Std 12) and A2 (Std 13).
Christian moral and ethical standards are fostered, and students are encouraged to consider matters of faith. A key aim is for students to develop their full potential – academically, physically, spiritually, socially and aesthetically, so that they can live selflessly as well rounded people in the service of God and man.
Hebron School is located next to the famous Botanic Gardens in Ooty. Lushington Hall is on a 20 acre densely wooded property which has a good range of educational and sports facilities, including an indoor Sports Hall, playing fields and swimming pool. The hostel for Stds. 8 – 13 girls is at Selborne, 2 kms from the Lushington campus.
The school offers education from primary level to IGCSE and A Level exams (Cambridge Board and Edexcel Board, U.K.), which are accepted world wide for university entrance. A wide range of subject choices is offered and courses are adapted to suit the needs of those going on to tertiary education. There is also a Department of Enhanced Learning which addresses the needs of students with learning difficulties, those requiring English as an additional language and those who need significant stretching academically.
