About Lancasterian School

Mission Statement

Lancasterian – Enabling quality, inclusion, access and achievement for all our beliefs

We believe that every pupil has a right to control his/her own life and to share in the opportunities, enjoyment, challenges and responsibilities of everyday life in contact with a wide range of peers.

We believe that care and concern for each and every person and respect for their human rights is central to our school community.

We believe that people who experience disability can be disadvantaged by the attitudes of others at home, in school, in the community and in local and national government.

Our purpose

We exist to enable pupils with a wide range of special educational needs to have a fulfilling and rewarding education.

We will achieve this purpose through a wide range of activities and services which respond to individuals’ needs, choices and rights in the context of the National Curriculum and other contemporary curriculum issues.

Our services and activities focus on creating educational opportunities and personal development through education and therapy. We also provide skilled care and support for families and carers, advocacy, information and advice.

Making it happen

People are central to our success. We expect the highest standards from our staff and volunteers; complete honesty and integrity, total professionalism and a commitment to the children and families whose interest we exist to serve.

We seek to recognise good practice and encourage creative and innovative work. We are committed to establishing equality of opportunity for all and to the professional development of our staff and volunteers.
