About Montgomery Academy
Our vision is that all our children benefit from a rich, engaging and memorable learning experience, thriving as readers, scholars and as citizens. We intend to deliver this promise through being ambitious for our students, working collaboratively within the Fylde Coast Academy Trust and being outward facing in engaging with national leaders in their field.
It is our duty to the community we serve to ensure that every child is given a myriad of learning experiences over their five years at Montgomery, so they can discover new interests, individual strengths and an appetite for life-long learning. One such learning experience was over a thousand staff and students working together in July to make Montgomery Academy a World Record Holder! Developing talents outside the academic curriculum is equally important, whether it be acting, musicianship or sporting prowess. We offer a wide and balanced curriculum with a range of both academic and vocational courses to choose from.
We set very high expectations in terms of behaviour, uniform and scholarship. Every student has the right to learn and achieve success. We believe that having high standards over the little things means that bigger issues are less likely to happen. We expect Montgomery students to be well ordered, smartly dressed, focused in class and respectful of others. We require your full support in maintaining these Montgomery standards for the benefit of all.
As part of the Montgomery Family, we promise that your son or daughter will be given the best environment to fulfil their academic potential and develop independence, confidence and a sense of their place in the world. Parental engagement in their child’s learning is a major factor in the achievement of the most successful students. It is our job to support you to support them with their studies, though that does not mean learning it all yourself!
Hopefully you will have read our most recent report from OFSTED a monitoring visit in May. Neil Mackenzie wrote many positive comments regarding our journey towards Good. He was very confident that the leadership was strong and we were focusing on the right areas, in the right way. This was confirmed by the improvement in our GCSE results this year where 56% of our students achieved standard passes or higher in both Maths and English, a 5% rise on the previous year. The majority of GCSE and BTEC subject improved on their 2018 results. We will continue to be rigorous in our pursuit of the best education possible for our wonderful students.
