About Newington Academy

Newington Academy is an exciting, caring and fun place to be. we are extremely proud of our Victorian building that has now reached the grand old age of 139! Our numbers have grown dramatically in recent years and we now have 335 pupils on roll, ranging from 3 to 11 years. We currently have 12 registration classes, 2 in the Foundation Stage, 5 classes in Phase 2 and 5 classes in Phase 3. All of our classes are supported by passionate teachers and excellent learning support assistants.

We offer a huge range of extra-curricular clubs along with our  Breakfast Club which is open every morning - it is our policy that we do not charge parents or carers for any provision or visit that we offer.

The area around the Academy is currently being regenerated so it is rapidly changing -  we are very excited about these changes!  Newington Academy is a thriving academy full of life and fantastic experiences that gives the Academy its unique atmosphere and place in the community. We have a busy and enthusiastic learning environment where there is always much to do, see and learn.

Our curriculum and philosophy ensure that all of our children are safe, successful and happy learners and leave us with the skills needed to be ambitious, resilient and respectful citizens.

All of our visitors agree that Newington Academy is an excellent school with huge capacity to improve even further.

We have immense pride in our school. Our pupils, parents and staff make it a very special place where creativity and excellence is celebrated and shared.

Newington Academy is at the cutting edge of curricular developments, parental engagement strategies and multi-layered media platforms for learning.

We offer Outstanding CPD opportunities and the chance to work with nationally, regionally and locally recognised leaders of education as part of a rapidly emerging and highly effective regional hub of schools

We have a passionate and enthusiastic staff team with a depth of expertise and knowledge. We are looking to appoint a new member to our team, one who will add drive and momentum in our journey towards becoming an outstanding Academy!
