Values and vision
Academic success is regarded as very important at Ponteland High School. However, the school recognises that school life is about a lot more than just lessons, and is proud of the wide range of enrichment activities on offer to its students. Teachers strongly encourage pupils to get involved in these activities, as they believe this is how students develop enduring friendships and interests for life.
Ponteland High School asks students to demonstrate a commitment to their learning, as well as perseverance and resilience, especially when faced with setbacks. It is believed that success is often more to do with effort and motivation than mere talent. The secondary school trusts that parents will help to reinforce this message.
