May I take this opportunity to welcome you to our school.  We are a partially selective girls’ school, in south Reading. Our aim is a very clear one which is to provide the best life-chances possible for every student .  To that end, we challenge our students to the very edge of their academic capabilities whilst providing wrap-around support towards those goals.  I believe in the importance of stepping out of one’s comfort zone, in order to improve.  Consequently, our vision is under pinned by the value placed on LEARNING.

Reading Girls’ School is a single sex Foundation School situated in South Reading, open to girls of all abilities with an excellent record of pastoral care. In order to maximise our success for the future, Reading Girls’ works closely with Kendrick Grammar School to sharpen the school’s drive for academic excellence.
 

Reading Girls’ is a dynamic school, set on a path of further improvement. All students are encouraged to strive for excellence and the school aims to challenge and motivate girls to maximise their potential, both academically and socially. Good qualifications, independence, confidence and the ability to communicate effectively with others are essential for adult life.
 

Our curriculum covers a broad range of subjects and offers a wide variety of opportunities for all. We encourage our students to become independent learners and seek the support and co-operation of parents to aid in this process. Girls are also encouraged to become involved in extra-curricular activities outside the normal school day. Working in partnership with parents, we provide a firm framework within which every girl has the chance to excel.
