About Ryedale School
Ryedale School is a leading secondary non-denominational comprehensive school based in North Yorkshire for students aged 11-16 with results that place us amongst the highest performing schools in the country, (our Progress score for 2017 is 0.64).
Building on our 'Outstanding' judgements (OFSTED 2012, Local Authority review 2015), we are continually developing and improving the educational experience for all learners.
Our staff have access to an ongoing personalised CPD and leadership programme in an open and positive working environment with well behaved students ready to learn.
For English, maths, science, modern foreign languages and humanities, students are set according to ability from the beginning of Year 7 based on their performance at Key Stage 2. Other subjects are taught in mixed ability groupings.
Values and vision
Ryedale School is committed to combining the very best educational provision with high expectations and traditional values. In doing so we challenge and support students both to fulfil their academic potential and become exemplary young people of whom we can all be proud.
This unites us in our commitment to ‘Aspire and Achieve’
“Ryedale is an outstanding school. ‘I cannot speak more highly of our experiences with the school’ is typical of the praise given by parents and carers. Very effective leadership including skilled management of teaching, highly accurate self-evaluation and a forensic analysis of the achievement and well-being of every student ensures that attainment across the school is high. School leaders ensure effective partnership working with other schools in the area to offer an outstanding curriculum that includes a wide range of optional subjects at GCSE.”
