Values and vision
Sgoil Lionacleit seeks to foster understanding and friendship without diminishing the distinct elements of the diverse faith traditions that exist within Uist and Benbecula. The school wishes to provide a varied curriculum to help pupils achieve their full potential. It also wishes for each of its students to have the opportunity to discuss with their teacher the context in which they learn and how they will approach their learning. Above all, the school values trust, tolerance, ambition, responsibility, respect, and self-belief.
“Young people enjoy learning at school and feel that they are treated with fairness and respect. Almost all demonstrate a high standard of behaviour. They are friendly and courteous. Most young people feel safe and cared for in the school. They are self-motivated to do well and are enthusiastic when their learning experiences are varied and well-paced… Young people’s learning is enriched and enhanced through a very wide range of experiences to achieve beyond the classroom.”
